Frontier and Environment

We often talk about a frontier. The frontier is the limit of a system with the rest of the universe. It is that line or surface that separates those parts of the universe having intense correlations with each other from the rest of the universe. That which is beyond the frontier, but is affected by the system and in turn affects the system, we call its environment. Through the frontier pass all communications of the system with its environment.
