The interface is the connection between the brain program in the computer and the body of Robby. It has been designed and built by E. Kysely using the "C-Control II" control unit made by Conrad Electronic GmbH in Germany.
It receives signals from the computer via a serial cable. It converts these signals into electric currents to operate the electro - pneumatic valves.
Also it receives all sense information from the body which it sends to the computer by the same serial cable.
Its dimensions are 100x140x150 mm (3.9x5.5x5.9 inches) and weighs 1 kg (2.2 lbs) . It is located in the head of Robby. Total cost for materials for the interface was: 750 dollars
